May 19, 2009 · Altered Beast was on the Z80s and if battery died, only the sound is gone. I've read that it's a simple eeprom recode to bring back the sound.
Suicide batteries in Sega boards can be removed by replacing the battery in the FD1094 or by replacing the encrypted ROMs with decrypted ones.
